We zijn fier op iets waar we de voorbije maanden hard aan gewerkt hebben. Hydrofix tekent zijn eerste internationale distributiedeal, en dat doen we in Denemarken, samen met Freehand Coffee Company.

Freehand Coffee Company is a leading Danish provider of coffee solutions for businesses, with more than 3,000 clients, including some of the country's largest listed companies. Over the coming years, they'll be rolling out our flavoured water fountains across Danish workplaces. Together, that adds up to a multi-million-euro deal.

Why Denmark, and why now

When we launched the Hydrofix ONE in Belgium last December, we were almost immediately contacted by distributors abroad who had been waiting for exactly this kind of solution. The fact that Denmark became our first big step is no coincidence. It's a country that takes great pride in the quality of its tap water and is strongly committed to sustainability. That's exactly where we belong.

Because that's what Hydrofix believes in: a future where tap water is the natural choice, and people love drinking it. Throughout the day, employees can draw still, sparkling and lightly flavoured water from our fountains, turning ordinary tap water into a healthy, sugar-free alternative to soft drinks and bottled water.

Our Danish partner sees exactly the same shift. "Younger employees are drinking less coffee at the office and looking for healthier ways to stay hydrated through the day. At the same time, employers are investing in workplaces that people actually want to come back to. With Hydrofix, we can offer our clients a complete drinks corner: great coffee in the morning and fresh, flavoured water throughout the day," says Benny Vallys, COO at Freehand Coffee Company.

Good for the planet, and made in Belgium

The environmental case is concrete. A single Hydrofix fountain avoids up to 35,000 plastic bottles over its five-year lifespan and saves around 4.5 tonnes of CO2, since bottled water generates over 1,000 times the CO2 emissions of tap water. Across a full rollout, that adds up to millions of plastic bottles avoided.

Something we're just as proud of: our product is Belgian. Every component, from the interchangeable capsules to the fountain itself, is made by partner companies in Flanders and Liège.

A first step, not a finish line

For us, this is just the beginning. Together with Freehand Coffee Company, we want to help build this new category of smart, flavoured water on tap in Denmark and make it a natural part of the working day.

We're already in talks with partners in other European markets such as the Netherlands, Switzerland and Romania, and we've had enquiries from Morocco, Turkey and Brazil too.
